Daily UI Challenges

#1 - Amazon Delivery Tracker

Date

08/19/2025

Time Spent

~ 2.5 hrs

Thoughts

A redesign of Amazon’s delivery status as a widget/notification. It lets users see progress and arrival time at a glance, without opening the app.

#2 - IPod Recreation

Date

08/23/2025

Time Spent

~ 3 hrs

Thoughts

I was curious to reimagine the classic iPod in a modern style. My goal was to preserve its unique round gesture by using a circular music timeline, while also stacking album covers horizontally to capture a similar browsing feel. I also used this as an opportunity to experiment with glassmorphism.

#3 - Save YouTube timestamp and section

Date

08/24/2025

Time Spent

~ 1.5 hrs

Thoughts

I wanted to design a bookmarking feature for YouTube that makes it easy to capture timestamps or sections, so I can revisit those meaningful moments anytime.

#4 - Google Maps Post Visit Survey

Date

08/25/2025

Time Spent

~ 1 hr

Thoughts

I wanted to design a post-visit survey integrated with Google Maps that allows customers to leave feedback on the exact dishes they ordered. Instead of a generic review, this approach captures dish-level ratings and quick notes, making it easier for customers to share their experience and for restaurants to gain actionable insights to improve menus.

#5 - Floating Action Icon

Date

08/29/2025

Time Spent

~ 1 hr

Thoughts

Have you ever mis-clicked a dismissal button on ads? It is probably intentional but it makes me distrust the app.

Starting from that frustration, I explored how popped-out floating circular icons can improve clarity. By detaching actions like close, search, and add from their containers, they become more immediate, discoverable, and tactile, strengthening action hierarchy and reducing mistakes.

#6 - Instant Tip Calculator

Date

09/02/2025

Time Spent

~ 1.5 hr

Thoughts

I wanted to make tipping faster and clearer. The design lets people pick a common % quickly, while still adjusting easily if needed, with the tip and new total shown right away.

A useful next step would be adding split-bill functionality.

#7 - Sign Up

Date

09/14/2025

Time Spent

~ 1.5 hr

Learnings

  • Reduce interaction cost – Auto-focus the first field so it’s immediately ready for input
  • Use top-aligned labels – Leads to the fastest form completion rates
  • Provide inline validation – Show validation messages close to the label/field for quick correction
  • Simplify fields – Combine inputs (e.g., full name instead of first/last name) to reduce effort
  • Offer flexibility – Include social login options and a clear link to log in for existing accounts

#8 - Quick Actions

Date

09/23/2025

Time Spent

~ 50 mins

Thoughts

I wanted to create shortcuts to the actions I do most often on my Mac — things like searching directly in Google, opening YouTube, taking a screenshot, or quickly putting my computer to sleep. By grouping these into a quick-action dock, I can reduce extra clicks or keyboards and reach my frequent tasks much faster.

#9 - Weather Card - How the day feels

Date

10/06/2025

Time Spent

~ 45 mins

Thoughts

I experimented with expressing weather in natural language rather than numbers. Focused on minimal layout, soft gradients, and friendly microcopy to make forecasts feel more human.

#10 - Calendar Task - Quick Add

Date

10/07/2025

Time Spent

~ 50 mins

Thoughts

I designed a smarter way to add tasks—just type or say it, and the system detects details like date, time, and reminders.

This reduces clicks and fields, turning scheduling into a smooth, conversational experience.
